Blesd Advises Us All To Have ''Gratitude'' In New Song
Don’t take anything for granted. That’s a very powerful statement but also an important one for anybody who holds anything or anyone dear in their life. Sensational up-and-coming R&B / pop band Blesd is making a splash with an inspiring single, ‘‘Gratitude’’ which actually evokes the issue of the title itself.
From the beginning, the song gets you on the hook with honeyed vocals by female leads Ayo Awosika and Lily Elise followed by a subtle chilly guitar riff and a hard knocking kick to keep you awake. The back vocals are harmonious and elevates the spirituality of the song to a whole other level. Speaking of spirituality, Blesd focuses its music on a spiritual level through melody, and harmony. All that with great poise. You can attest that fact in ‘‘Gratitude’’, as this song can transcend the boundaries that separate us to connect as humans over a shared desire for love and hope.
Blesd explains of the song, ‘‘ It’s a reminder to stay thankful and live life from this mindset not only once a year but all year and every second of every day. It also serves to remind us that everything happens for a reason and not to take anything in life for granted. Even the simple things. We wrote it about a year ago and are so happy to be sharing it now. ‘Gratitude’ acts as a calling card for the groups’ ethos and purpose. The simple message of thankfulness is one we often lose track of through the high-strung, fast-paced nature of the lives we lead.’’
Not to be confused with dogmatic religious beliefs, their message is one of freedom and self-healing. Musically, the band draws inspiration from fellow meditative R&B purveyors like Indie. Aire, D’Angelo, and others. With credits that include background vocal work for Miley Cyrus, Gwen Stefani and Don Henley, drumming for Bobby McFerrin and music placements on major TV networks ABC and PBS, the band’s members all have impressive resumes of their own. Available in numerous music platforms, watch out for more amazing music from Blesd in the future!
